Schema App has been selected as one of six companies to join Canada’s hottest innovation hub, Communitech, in their Rev Accelerator. The sales-focused accelerator provides high-potential startups guidance in optimizing sales and marketing to accelerate revenue.

The Guelph-based tech startup will remain in their downtown Guelph offices and travel to Communitech once a month for the program. Their goals for the accelerator include growing their sales team, mature processes, and accelerate adoption in the US market.
Co-Founders Martha and Mark van Berkel are not new to the tech scene. Martha has a degree in Applied Mathematics from Queen’s University and spent the first 14 years of her career at networking giant Cisco Systems Inc. There she was responsible for online support strategy and automation. Mark has a degree in Information Systems from St. Francis Xavier, an MBA in Entrepreneurship and Strategy, a Masters in Semantic Technology and 13+ years doing SAP consulting and Information Architecture. Together they have a perfect match of tech-savvy and a passion for solving real-world problems.
2018 has already been an amazing year for the Schema App team. They’ve moved into the beautifully renovated 1840’s Petrie Building in Downtown Guelph, doubled in employees, attended 48-Hours in the Alley New York Accelerator, and quadrupled their revenue. They are excited for what the future holds.

Martha van Berkel is the co-founder and CEO of Schema App, an end-to-end Semantic Schema Markup solution provider based in Ontario, Canada. She focuses on helping SEO teams globally understand the value of Schema Markup and how they can leverage Schema Markup to grow search performance and develop a reusable content knowledge graph that drives innovation. Before starting Schema App, Martha was a Senior Manager responsible for online support tools at Cisco. She is a Mom of two energetic kids, loves to row, and drinks bulletproof coffee.
